Elmer's BBQ in Tulsa - "It Be Bad"

I really must pay tribute to one of my favorite BBQ places in the world - Elmer's in Tulsa. Famous for the "Badwich" - which has everything you can imagine on it - to the greatest brisket, ribs, and sausage, and even bologna (and it's really good) this is a real shrine to Oklahoma BBQ. I've got nothing bad to say about Elmers - even their beans (with little BBQ chunks included) rule. I started going there when I lived in Tulsa many years ago, and still make a pilgrimage every time I visit T-town. In fact, a bunch of professional athletes and stars from Tulsa have it Fed-X'ed to Los Angeles and beyond. Hey - when the "cue" comes on you, you've got to have it.

  1. This is definitely the home of "It Be Bad" BBQ. Even for us locals, eating at Elmer's is a religious experience. Let us know when you need some shipped to your international studios in LA. It will give us and excuse to grab some for ourselves.

PS. I especially enjoy finding little BBQ tidbits hidden under my fingernails hours after a power lunch at Elmer's.

  2. I completely agree. I've been born and raised on Elmer's, thanks to my dad! And I think about it all the time. How I wish I could have it FedEX'ed to NYC! Nothing beats it.
